Need to House Train Your Puppy? Find Out How
How would you like your puppy to behave when they grow up? You will, of course, really like them to be happy, well-behaved and confident but how do we actually go about this? We can teach your puppy by gently introducing them in the right way to situations and help them to like people too when they are young. Those first few months of your puppies life is when they learn the most and although your pup will continue to learn throughout his life, the rate of his learning will slow down.
One of the great advantages of owning a dog as a pet, and why they are so successful is that they can learn to not mess in the house. So that your home doesn't get into a mess, one of the first things you will want to teach you puppy is House Training.
So that you have a good basis for your pup - you must be easy to understand as well as being consistent and clear.
If however, he discovers you are unpredictable, frightening and inconsistent; his learning will be more difficult in the future.
Do not simply let your pup go into the yard in case he has forgotten what he wanted to do - go out with him. After he goes to do his mess, always give him fuss and give him something special too. Give your puppy his treat right after he does it and do not wait until you are back inside your home otherwise he won't know why he is being rewarded. Give him a few minutes to empty himself but do not distract him. It is best to try and establish a special place in your yard for him to empty himself and allow him a practical time to do it - else come back in the house.
Keep an eye on him carefully as he will want to empty himself soon and we don't want any mistakes.
